Filter Variables

In addition to Recode Variables, filtering is another method used to help refine your crosstab results.

To filter your crosstab results, perform the following:

  1. Select the row, column, or control for a crosstab and click the Add Filter button next to the field.
  2. Select an option for equal to (=) or not equal to (!=) and select the category levels for which to filter.

NOTE: Click the green arrow next to the variable in the Variables pane to read more about the category level options.

  1. If necessary, add more than one category level to the filter by clicking the drop-down arrow again and selecting another option. In the example below, the crosstab will only display results for "Yes" and "No" categories and omit all other categories.
  2. To edit the filter, click the X next to the category level.
  3. To remove the entire filter, click the Clear Filter button. The filter no longer displays for the crosstab.
